Dental Coverage

Even though Glitch does not provide dental insurance, we will reimburse you for dental expenses. The dental reimbursement policy is for full time employees and begins on your start date.

Coverage is based on calendar year Jan 1 -> Dec. 31st and resets on January 1st.
We cover all dental procedures except for teeth whitening, orthodontics, and other cosmetic procedures (will cover caps/crowns/bridges/root canals/checkups/cleanings).
There is no deductible.

Yearly coverage amounts (reimbursement based on total expenses for the year):
  • 100% coverage up to $500
  • 50% coverage from $500 - $2500
  • 25% coverage from $2500 - $4500
  • Family coverage is double these maximums for the entire family

Any non normal procedures should be checked for coverage before they are performed (i.e. not caps/crowns/bridges/root canals/checkups/cleanings -- ask Liz).

Employee will pay entire dental bill and submit the bill and receipt showing itemized procedures for reimbursement using  Abacus.com .

Reimbursement will be paid automatically through Abacus within a week!

If your expense isn't entirely covered at 100%, the expense dollar amount will be changed to reflect how much reimbursement you will receive before payment is made from Abacus. Someone in accounting will do this, though you might be asked to re-submit the expense with the corrected dollar amount (vs them changing the amount for you).

For example: Pretend you have single coverage and Glitch has already paid out $500. When you submit an expense for a $300 teeth cleaning, the expense amount will be changed from $300 to $150 to reflect the 50% coverage on expenses between $500 and $2500.

More complicated: Pretend you have family coverage and Glitch has already paid out $760. When you submit an expense for a $333 cavity filling, the expense amount will be changed from $333 to $286.50. The first $240 is covered at full value (to get up to $1000), and the remaining $93 is covered at 50% ($46.50). The total is then $240 + $46.50 = $286.50.
